Tribal Fusion Belly Dance Costume

Hi,

For anyone who doesn't know me personally, I'm a belly dancer (woo :D). I'm currently teaching myself a new style, tribal fusion, and am hoping to perform this in the new year, so an future stuff will be on my belly dance costume until it's finished.

Anyways, today I'm just gonna upload my conceptual idea:

So that's basically it. I'll colour it in when I have my graphics tablet with me so you can get some idea of colour schemes, but basically it's gonna be purples, oranges and reds :)

Finished: Rita Mordio

Sorry for the delay, but I've just been so busy since last time!

So, I've only got one picture of my finished costume, and that was taken at the end of the day, so it looks a bit disheveled.
This is the bow for my obi that my loving boyfriend did up for me :)
And this is me as Rita

Update: Rita Cosplay

Well with a week left before KitaCon, I've really got to get a move on. I was hoping to have Rita mostly finished by now, but I've still got quite a bit to do. Lillymon's been postponed now probably until the May MCM Expo in London, or until the October MCM Expo :(

Anyway, I've come bearing updates! The tunic is now practically finished - all that's missing are the pockets.

And I've made her goggles. Yay :) Well, my Dad made them.

And I'm currently working on Rita's blastia necklace.
The above 2 are paper drafts

This is the front of the final piece

The blastia necklace is basically made out of a pizza box spray painted gold and a red glass bead which was sewn on to the cardboard.

Fabric Ordered!

I have finally ordered the fabric for my cosplay! WOO!
That only cost me £20 :( But it will be worth it in the end - I hope.
I've also decided to try and make another costume in the 4 weeks we have left.
I've figured that if I can get Rita done this week, then my next one should be done in the last 3 weeks. Not that I'm going to rush Rita though.
So my next costume is Lillymon from Digimon! (Guess why? lol). She's awesome.
Here's a picture of her:
Click here for more info on her.
I've already figured out how to make her costume, even the wings, except from her hat. That's going to be tricky. And how her wings attach to her. But apart from that, it's all planned. I'm just waiting on the calico to make patterns :) Toodles for now!

Cosplay: Rita Mordio

Hi guys!
So, as all those cosplayers out there know, Kitacon is only 5 weeks away! I'm so excited ^^
I'm planning as going as Rita Mordio from Tales of Vesperia. She is so cool! I'm even making her book and scroll. For a bit of info on Miss Rita, I suggest going to Aselia Wikia.

I've already made the pattern for tunic and long sleeve yukata:
So this is the pattern for her yukata on my mannequin (^),
and this is it with her tunic over the top (^).
Sorry for the bad picture quality but I only had my phone on me at the time and it's camera is not the best.
I started off making these by cutting up an old t-shirt I had lying around. Making your own pattern is kinda hard, but it gets easier to do, I hope lol. I made mine with calico, but you could make it from anything - but calico is the best and probably the cheapest medium to use.
So as well as everything mentioned above, I have started making her goggles, but they are currently at home, where I am not (at uni D:). I will probably use polycotton to make the cosplay, because it looks about right and where it has cotton in it, it should breathe (hopefully).
I still need to make the pattern for the pockets - which should be rather easy - and the pattern for the long red boot - which should be harder.
